On Thursday, May 13th, I wrote an article concerning the four major sports in America dealing with their own respective Collective Bargaining Agreement expirations during 2011.

While many fans are fearful that their sport will be locked out, I raise the idea that open negotiations present opportunities for fans to be heard. While the NFL owners argue that their piece of the pie gets slimmer, there is no evidence concerning their net revenues with their books closed. Hopefully, the owners will follow the path of the NBA top brass and let the players in. I wouldn't bet on it. However, there is change in the air, and it is time for sports fans to seize this opportunity rather than bemoan the potential negatives.
On Saturday, May 15th, I wrote about meeting NFL PA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith as he paid a visit to the set of Dave Zirin's Sirius XM Radio show Edge of Sports for an extremely interesting and entertaining conversation about the potential for a lockout in the NFL.

It is truly disturbing that the NFL owners would stand to net $4 billion even without 1 down of football played in 2011.
Thanks for reading.
