Working at Sports Fans Coalition allows me to interact with many intelligent activists around the country. Its exciting to hear from readers who feel the way I do about sports in our society. These feelings of outrage and discontent and motivation to do something about it all are further catalyzed by my speed-reading of Dave Zirin's not-yet-released proof-copy of BAD SPORTS (more on that later).
On Monday, April 26th, I had the following article published on the NCAA's decision to expand.
http://www.sportsfanscoalition.org/2010/04/ncaa-basketball-expands-its-wallet/
After all the hype, their decision to add 3 play-in games was nothing but anticlimactic.
On Saturday, May 1st, I wrote about stadium funding from a couple of different hotspots around the country. http://www.sportsfanscoalition.org/2010/05/stadium-funding-tastes-like-chicken/. It's a growing problem, that SFC is hoping to curb prior to ending the practice altogether. Why should tax payers foot the bill for billionaires' play things? They shouldn't have to.
Thanks for reading.
