Warmth From Afar (An Ode To Mom)

With Mom & Pops at Wynwood Walls, Miami

Navigating the abyss, what I miss
Most, is a host, a line, a mother

Sometimes I complain
Stay in your lane

Smothered

Change, none from above
Always a smile, definition

Cluttered

Mind right(s), sight gained
All rearranged

Climbing

Thinking to the beginning
Original day of sinning

Reminding

Who was it that berthed you?
None so crucial, so many, so few

One, One that believes
In everything you might achieve

That knows your words and action don't align
That reads and refuses to neglect the signs
That cares as the blood pumps from the heart
That finishes the story before mine starts
That loves through pain, no need for gain
Every step forward explains a hug

Dares not resist care for this ugly mug
