Has "the special one" or "the only one" impressed Sir Alex enough to become his successor?
It's a beautiful day in football when you can view an example of the beautiful game on the grand stage. Now, I've interviewed celebrities. I've spoken to athletes at the top of their game. I've spoken to musicians. But I've never seen a display of talent on the level of La Macia. Watch this clip (2:53 into the video) of Xavi, Iniesta, and Villa. Essentially, Spain's finest treat the world as their oyster. And that's no golf clap...

Barcelona remain hampered by the loss of erstwhile "Captain Tarzan" Carles Puyol. The heart of Barca remains a medical treatment candidate taking injury after injury. Far from inferior a talk topic, Wazza caused Men in Blazers to trend the topic #GashDiet wondering if Rooney might be more nursing teet to vampire zombies than starting striker to Man United as RvP continues dominance in the Prem. However, Manchester United time and again show their resilience prior to Rooney's return to Sir Alex Ferguson's side and afterwards exemplify a club in the upper echelon of Champions League title contenders with Chicharito's brace to see them through to a perfect first half of the group stage.

Carles Puyol could act opposite Cher in the Mask redux.
Amazing what an American will do for our favorite hyphenated and under-caffeinated Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas's career. The deuce is loose in London.  He spent too long at Craven Cottage and now he has the opportunity to prove himself on the world stage...even if the world stage according to AVB means Europa glory.

Attitude apparent emphatically flashing the deuce. Born on the Texas-Mexico border and alive and well in the EPL.
While the game may be beautiful, it's not fearing competitors from America. According to the Guardian, American football has made strides in growing the popularity of their game in the UK through a marketing campaign that would impress Karl Rove. Read the statistics on how just one game a year at Wembley is enough to make the sport the choice of future champions.

Just because we're friends doesn't mean I'm shaking hands to implicitly say that Pep has the job.
There's mad respect between Pep and Sir Alex ferguson. If Alec can't beat you in two Champions League finals, you've earned it. It doesn't mean he can't live until he's 105 year-old and reform team after team after team. Generations in sport, as Coach K likes to say, are about 4-5 years long. Pep spent 4 years in the ultra-political hot seat of what we've come to know and love as the publicly funded most post popular team in the world based in Catalunya away from the cares and stares of the paparazzi in America where both magis call their flats homes away from home. So will Josep Guardiola reign in Manchester?

It's possible, but doubtful. Jose Mourinho wants to be known as the best manager ever. How would he do that? Staying somewhere for a while. Real Madrid are sure to win the Champions League one day. Will it be this year? Well, he's made the semi-finals two years straight in the only two years he's contended at the head of the club. So, it's likely he'll achieve the feat. The notch missing from his resume is clearly winning the Champions League with an English club. I see that happening at Manchester United. The Glazers have their faults but they wouldn't dispose of the opportunity to hire the only one should he be ready to move back to England as much as he says he is.
Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho weigh their options in the coming year as Sir Alex grows a year older.
In the end, Sir Alex needs to win the Red Devils' 20th title - resulting in a record in which he will have won a title every other year in his 26 year career at the club - and Jose Mourinho should take over the reigns to finish the legacy he's so carefully developed winning in every league dominating opponents and polishing trophies with his tears. His presence on the touchline is what David Gill knows is needed. Pep would be great, but his love for Italy will surely bring him to Inter Milan or assediata AC milan to carry the weight of the mondo Italiano on his shoulders once again.
